About me
As the title suggests, this is a chronicle of my changing times. I currently live Arlington, Virginia and I go to graduate school at ESIA at GWU. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Haskovo, Bulgaria. Now I'm what's called a RPCV. I see this as an open diary of where I was, where I am and of course where I hope to go. It's a record of the daily trials, tribulations, successes and distractions of my journey. I hope you enjoy it. Welcome to a slice of my world. I'm also obliged to say that this is not an official Peace Corps website and the views and information presented here are my own and do not represent official Peace Corps views.

From Florence this time...
What's that ol' adage - when it rains it pours? This past month or so has been extreemly busy for me. The quick details are that I hurt my hand, got so sick I thought I was going to die (and ended up needing the wonderful tender care of my friends Kalinka, Angie, Anelia and Pauna). I had a horrendously busy week afterwards where I tried to get a month's worth of work done in 4 days. Even mondane things like my midservice medical/dental check up were accomplished (no cavities and outside of random broken bones - no other difficulties!!!). My parents came in and got a taste of the life in BG and Haskovo specifically. They realy liked Velico Turnovo - and so did I having visited it for the first time.
Which brings me to Italy and for great days in Rome touring the Vatican, Roman ruins and the central city in general. Saw a concert in my favorite Roman Basillica, S. Maria de Minerva which turned out to be a tribute to John Paul II. It was kinda neat except for the fact that people turned verbose in Italian which left myself and my parents kinda twidling our thumbs. Today we got to Florence and extreem overcrowding and heat. I can't imagine it getting worse than this - but they say that June - Sept are just beyond belief here.
The food is wonderful, the sites breathtaking and atmosphere relaxing (when not battling crowds). I'll have more (with pictures a plenty) at a later date, but right now I'm paying through the proverbial nose for internet at a cafe and must go. I'll pop in later with more updates (more frequent I hope - 6 weeks is a bit long, isn't it???). Cíao for now.
